maryland creeks are in desperate need for attention.furnace creek, a stream that snakes out of severn ,past thickly developed suburb in glen burnie and into curtis bay and the patapsco river.sixty years ago,it was a vibrant body of water, a source activity throughout several years.it's very different today.furnace creek is one of three county tributaries of the patapsco closed to human touch for almost 30 years.the 3 creeks are so backed up with bacteria from human and animal waste that county health officials warn getting in the creek can make you sick.dangerously high levels of enterococci are common in furnace creek, marley creek and rock creek.marley and furnace, as well as the streams that feed into them, have been under an extreme advisory in use since 1979 and in 1982 rock creek joined the list.other waterways are closed as bacterial problems pop up,but in anne arundel county only these three creeks are closed to human touch permanently.after a 4 million gallon sewage spill a few miles upstream of the patapsco this summer.dont eat east coast fish.of the six pollutants- sediments, nutrients, pathogens, hydrocarbons, toxins and trash- that degrade the health of these three waterways.furnace, marley and rock creek exceed pollution health standards.there are over 3,200 under ground septic tanks and drain fields that have leaked over 75,000 pounds of nitrogen into the creeks each year.since may 2007 there have been at least four significant sewage spills in furnace creek alone- totalling 110,000 gallons of wastewater.in august , a power outage sent 23,000 gallons into the twin coves area.all the waste water, a combination of sewage and other waters that flows down the drain in homes or offices,is a source of nitrogen.nitrogen feeds algea.while algea can be a part of a healthywater shed too many nutrients can cause it to bloom.after a bloom it chokes off light crucial to under water grasses and when it decomposes it sucks the oxygen out of the water.killing aquatic life.dont even eat crabs that have 3 eyes.

DemLibs just want to stand in the way of whatever they want just as a sibling who teases you with thier uneaten candy bar on a long drive. Not sharing any with you because it gives them pleasure in Taunting ! For some it gives them the power rush and Warps thier little Phsyqie into believing that They are in control of the Uncontrolable !

  8. That sucks - those creeks used to be awesome places to hang out and party when i was a kid. When they catch the last edible crab they might as well just turn off the lights and hit the launch button. F it.

My small town in DFW tx area used to be 15,000 people now its up to 35,000 and everyone gets onto the highway in the morning to go to work and they sit there going no where burning up expensive gas just to travel 30 minutes to go 3 miles down the road. just too many people ! Living in a too small world !
